Under a corset-style belt with three buckles a petticoat in broderie anglaise by Saint-Gall is worn over a pair of short in the same fabric.

I love that Givenchy shark’s tooth.
First image from Neil Jordan’s upcoming Byzantium starring Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton, about a pair of women who claim to be vampire siblings.
On the run for murder, two young women arrive penniless at an English seaside town. Clara (Arterton) is a fiercely modern woman who has her eyes on the future and no time for the past. Teenager Eleanor (Ronan) is shy and innocent. Yet they both hide the same secrets: they are really mother and daughter, and they are both vampires.
Eleanor is exhausted by 200 years on the run and desperate to settle down. But little does she know that her mother has been protecting her all of the years from their own kind, “The Brotherhood”. To escape them, they must either blend in or continue running away. But just as they think they may have escaped, their past rapidly catches up with them.
Neil Jordan is the man who directed Interview with the Vampire, so he’s got some good vampire cred.
“It took a while to shoot the scene by the coconut stall at the fun fair, so Michelle (Mary) and I had a competition. I think she beat me 10-1 - she was uncannily good. The crew were very disappointed in me. To be beaten by a woman is bad enough, but one in Edwardian dress is really highlighting something.”
- Dan Stevens, “The World of Downton Abbey”
