Vivian Kubrick, Stanley Kubrick’s seventeen-year-old daughter, standing on the Caretaker’s Apartment set of The Shining.
Vivian filmed nearly sixty hours of behind-the-scenes footage during the production, some of which ended up being used in her documentary on the making of the film.

Les Beehive received an advance copy of Canadian writer Diane Obomsawin’s book On Loving Women, which came out today, and we adore it! It’s a charming, poignant comic filled with tales of coming out – from first crushes, to first kisses, to first times. It’s relatable for lesbian and bisexual women, and a lovely, heartwarming read for everyone. It captures that perfect universal feeling of love and heartbreak.
BEHIND THE SCENES: VERSACE

Lois and Doug Harris from Sand Springs Oklahoma lost their home and business in a fire Sunday morning. They escaped, but lost eleven cats in the fire due to smoke inhalation; only one survived. The Harris’ would take in stray cats, neuter them, and feed and house them, as well as take in injured shelter cats. The story touched me; it’s such a kind, generous act to care for animals who would otherwise suffer. The kitties were a neighbourhood delight who visited with people walking by. If you would like to donate to help the Harris family rebuild their home and business, you can do so here.
