When The Walking Dead first started, I was pretty into Rick/Shane. It seemed an obvious ship – two dueling alphas, one aggressively alpha, the other a cool headed boss. They both loved the same lady, they both wanted to be Carl’s Dad. It worked, I enjoyed my time with them, but nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to the love Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus share for each other. It’s such a sweet, pure love, that it bleeds into their characters and has turned them into a beautiful couple, on-screen and off. Off-screen they are extra fun, because they cuddle and call each other Loverboy and look at each other like the sun rises in the other’s eyes. On screen their affection is muted, but just as beautiful, as Daryl’s character grew into a gruffly compassionate hero and Rick’s hero façade began to crack, they sort of morphed together into one a perfect set of dirty zombie fighting man kissers. They’re so beautiful together, and this shoot, by John Russo for the November issue of Atlanta magazine, shows how much these two little dapperly dressed scruff monsters like to wink at us from behind the camera, letting us know that they know exactly what we know: that they should KISS!
