Sopranos/Boardwalk cross-overs in season 3:
1. Buscemi directs “Pine Barrens”. It’s his first directing job with The Sopranos. The episode was written by Terence Winter & Tim Van Patten. I blame these three for the death of my sweet Jimmy. I blame this episode for bringing them together. I forgive them during the course of this episode because it’s so very cinematic & inspiring. Do you hear me, Buscemi? You may not be seeking it, but I’m giving it. TAKE IT!
2. Tony’s dreams seem to always take place while standing at a pier, gazing into the water. I wonder if he longs to walk towards the water & let it lap at his expensive shoes while his spoils float ominously around him.
3. CHALKY WHITE IS IN THE FINALE! He has an intelligent clever daughter who beats Jackie Jr at chess, which isn’t a surprise, considering the lack of Scrabble skills we saw JJ display in an earlier episode. Man, that guy was dumb. He almost drowned in three inches of water, you know. But hey, Chalky! He looks beautiful. I miss him.
OMG OMG OMG Chalky White. Yesssss. We haven’t watched The Wire yet (I KNOW!) but you know I’m ALREADY excited about Omar.

Sopranos, episode 311: Pine Barrens & Boardwalk Empire, episode 205: Gimcrack & Bunkum
Tonight, as we were preparing to watch the Pine Barrens episode of The Sopranos, SB just sort of casually says, “Do you think Richard went to Pine Barrens? It’s a woods just outside Atlantic City, you know.”
THAT IS PROFOUND! How did she say it so casually?

Michael Shannon spotted on the set of the new Superman movie ‘Man Of Steel’ in Vancouver, Canada today.
Purposely hiding General Zod’s logo, you sly dog, making us wait to kneel to you. I do appreciate the dedication to the Caesar haircut that Terence Stamp sported in the original. Srsly though, I can’t believe MS is HERE and we’re just sitting around like chumps, not trying to find him. What awesome, weird bar/ fetish club/ bookstore/ D&D game is he at right now? We must bring him lemons! ALL THE LEMONS!!
